Cabin fever!

It's no secret that our little family are a bunch of homebodies, but lately we've all been feeling a little cooped up, stressed out, and irritable. The weather has just been so crazy...either pouring rain or scorching hot! Plus, where are we going to go on a 8x25 mile island!!! Our boys HATE the beach and it's too hot and dangerous to take a walk on the non-existent sidewalks here with crazy horn-happy drivers (don't even get me started on that one!) Oh, I miss the U.S. And with no A/C in the car the simplest trip can easily turn into a nightmare!
Today was an exception...I needed to get out of the house and go do something...anything. So we opted out for Hard Rock Cafe. They have good food, a great view of the ocean, and lots of people! To our surprise it was a great trip...I think I'm the only one who complained about the hot...skin melting car! It was so worth the trip though, the boys were so happy once we got them out of the car. They both had the biggest smiles with the saddest beet red cheeks and sweaty heads :( What good boys! It wasn't a monumental day or anything but it was a really great day nonetheless :) Something we all really needed.

Dad with our HAPPY HAPPY boy :)

Emmet skipped his nap this morning and needed a nap, but he decided he wanted to go "bye bye" more than he wanted to sleep. He was a little hot and grumpy until he got a taste of this "Berrylicious" smoothie...it was good and he drank most of it!!!

Me and my smoothie stealer:) Doesn't he always look like he's up to something...little mischievous grin!

Happy to be out and about...but especially to be out of the heat!

Breakfast with Emmet

Lately Emmet has been doing this crazy face. He'll scrunch up his whole face and breathe in really hard through his nose so it that it sucks his little nostrils in and it is too funny. Occasionally he'll come out with the buck teeth...that's my favorite! Haha! I don't know where he comes up with these things...but he knows it's funny and does it all the time. The other day at breakfast he was eating his oatmeal, of course, and was being a total goof. Doing this throughout the whole meal and laughing to the point of almost choking! What a nerd :) This face has also morphed into a new game...he'll scrunch up his face and squint his eyes (like he can't see) and chase after us or pretend that he can't see where he's going, peeking every once in awhile...arms out to guide him and everything. I need to get that on tape...so hilarious and what an imagination!!!

Our little ghost

Ryan put Weston's towel on his head to be funny, so of course, Emmet wanted to do it too! He probably spent a good 10 minutes running up and down the hall like this then checking himself out in the mirror! What a nerd!

What a good helper

Now that Weston is getting older the boys are really starting to interact and it's so funny to watch. Emmet is always wanting to "help" Wes by bringing him snacks, toys, and pacifiers. It's funny because he'll just run up and lay them on his chest or push them in front of him.
Last night Emmet saw Weston's pacifier on the couch and ran up and tried to put in his mouth...today he was so nice to help his little brother out again. Poor Wes! Hahaha!

"Here Wes...let me help you with this..."

"Oops...didn't mean to get your eye!"

"Got it! Your welcome."

My two sweet baby boys :)

Best buds :)

These two are best of buds. Emmet is seriously so attached to his dad...when Ryan leaves for school Emmet has a meltdown. It's so funny too because Emmet can sense when Ryan is getting ready to leave and he'll follow him around the house sticking to him like glue, watching his every move so he can make sure that he's not leaving with out him. As soon as Ryan leaves the world comes to an end. I know Ryan feels horrible this time each day...one day it was so bad he really did miss a couple of classes and took Emmet swimming and around town to run errands...what a sweet dad! But most days Emmet screams and hits the door and throws himself around the house and refuses to come to me. When he finally comes around he seriously mopes and has to come snuggle on my lap to calm down! Meanwhile I'm racking my brain on how to get his mind off of his dad. So we'll color in his dinosaur coloring book or make some yummy cookies! These things always seem to make him feel better :)
Now this picture was taken today when dad got home and Emmet was elated! He ran up to Ryan wrapped his arms around his neck and couldn't stop smiling and laughing! So cute! These are the funniest days!!!

6 months!

Wes is 6 months old today! What a big boy! In this last month he has gotten the biggest personality and is absolutely hilarious...and of course sweet as pie :) This boy talks all day long...screams, yells, and laughs, I just love it! He is still such a little angel and is pretty much a self starter. He started sleeping all through the night by himself for almost a month now (his 1st night was May 14th). He hasn't even had a night time bottle since then. He goes to bed around 7-8 pm and sleeps until 6-7 am and wakes up SO happy (That's taken a little training though!). Me and Ryan just lay in bed and listen to him babble for about an hour before we get up for the day...he's so loud he wakes Emmet up in the other room! I have to remember these days...these are the sweetest days when they wake up so happy to see you! Weston can also sit up all by him self...he's been doing this since 5 1/2 months! He's loving his rice cereal and is still getting used to his baby food. He's only had sweet potatoes so far, but he seemed to like them. Wes loves to blow spit bubbles, spit, roll all around the house, play and grab at Emmet (it's so funny Emmet loves it too and just lets him grab his hair or face!), loves to be tossed in the air and hang upside down, loves his pacifier, and his favorite song is "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!". I'm not kidding about the song either...ask Ryan. He laughs hysterically as soon as you start singing it! Love those primary songs. They come in so handy when you run out of lullabies!
We have had a blast getting to know this sweet little guy but I can't believe that he's already 6 months old! He is learning so much everyday and is getting so strong. I'm pretty sure he'll be an early crawler/walker. He can already get on his knees and can support his weight so well. We'll see!!!

Posing cute for a picture!

He can sit up by himself but here he was a little too excited and was throwing himself everywhere! Love those blue eyes!

Sitting without help! Big boy!

First time in the high-chair...pretty exciting :)

Wes was loving the chair until Emmet started picking on him. Emmet would run around the chair hitting at his arms and pulling on his feet and even tried pushing him around the house....funny to me but Wes wasn't liking it!

This is the aftermath of Emmet...why do I have a feeling this is going to happen a lot more now that these two are getting bigger!

Proof these boys do love eachother...so cute!

World's saddest face :(

Isn't this the saddest, sweetest face you have ever seen!? It breaks my heart but I can't help but laugh at how adorable this picture is. Weston has the cutest little pouty lips and biggest puppy dog eyes. Ryan was teasing me telling me how bad a mom I am for posting this sad picture...I couldn't resist though! I love all of his sweet expressions...I just want to run up and give him a big squeeze and kiss! Which I did after I took the picture!!!
