Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we had a small Thanksgiving at my parents house with just us and the boys. Tomorrow we will celebrate with the rest of the family at Brad and Tiffanys. I just wanted to post a few pictures of us for Ryan because we've been away from him for two weeks and I haven't had the chance to post yet! The boys really enjoyed their Thanksgiving and ate and ate and finished it off right with some yummy pumpkin pie my mom made. Thanks for the fun day mom and dad!

Update

What's up everybody, I'm just taking a little break from studying to post a little thread to update everybody. First of all, I would like to congratulate Annalee on her news of being pregnant. April and I are very excited for you guys.

Since I don't a have a camera down here, I thought that I would post this funny road sign from here.

I'm still living my so-called "dream" down here, learning how to save lives :) and improve the health care of this and future generations to come :) I can't tell you how many times I've thought "I wish I went into Nursing, because I'd be done by now, and I wouldn't have $150,000 in debt already. I can't believe that I am only 2 weeks away from being done with Basic Sciences. I thought this day would never come. I will no longer have classes and will just be spending the next 2 years rotating in hospitals, pretending to act like I know A) what's wrong with you, and B) How to cure you. That should be interesting. I first will be at Maine Medical Center, where I will be taking my Board Exam. Everytime I think about taking that exam, I black out. Then..... when I finally wake up, I assume the fetal position in the corner of my room and pull a Nancy Kerrigan "Why, Why, Why Me!"

When April and the boys flew back home, one of my best friends down here moved into my place, which helps because now I can split the rent of our condo down here. His name is Chase and he's a red-head from Canada, and a pretty hilarious guy. This is a guy who became our SGA President by walking into class in Super Man Tights, where he than gave his speech to the Student Body on why he would be a good SGA President. Then at our White Coat Ceremony, you had to write down on a card, what you want the Announcer to read (So your name and how to pronounce it) Well the Professor reading off the names, was our Psychology Professor who Chase has a crush on, and he wrote on his card "Marry me Chase". She didn't catch it until AFTER she read it, and the whole room of 600 people erupted in laughter. Oh yeah, and he's the only person under the age of 50 that I know of that has hair implants, and he loves it. He combs his hair like Conan O,brien. When I ask him why he got hair implants, his response is "Because I don't want to be single the rest of my life." LOL.....I bring up the "red-head" part, because we discovered 2 weeks ago that there was a "National Kick a Ginger Day"(aka "Kick a Red Head Day") started, which was on November 20th. I have a whiteboard on my fridge that has a daily countdown to when I get to fly back home, and so under it I had a countdown to "Kick a Ginger Day". If you don't believe me, check out this link. http://www.ctvbc.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20081120/BC_ginger_kicking_081120/20081120/?hub=BritishColumbiaHome
So Yes, when the 20th came around I did my greatest Bruce Lee impersonation.

Needless to say when I woke the next day and went out to the fridge, there is now a countdown to "Kick a Breeder Day", which is in regards to April and I having two kids born in the same Year. LOL.....

That brings up another funny story. So I called the Insurance company to put full coverage back on our car, now that April is there. And the agent told me that we get a discount due to our kids, and that all she needs are their birth dates. When I gave them Emmet and Weston's birthday, she said ummmm..... what's Weston's birthday again, because you just gave the same year for both. LOL......

When I can think of any more funny stories, I will make sure to post them. I have 4 exams starting with Pharm, Micro, and Path tomorrow. So wish me luck. If you see a post tomorrow afternoon with the title "Guess I'm Going to be a Nurse afterall", you'll know that they didn't go so well. :)

April and the Boys are Heading Home!!!

Well... today was another sad day for me here during school. April and I thought that it would better if her and our two boys flew back with my parents to spend the next month with family/friends while I finish my last semester of Basic Sciences and then take my Board Exam. It was a tough decision, but I think we made the best decision. I have a total of 7 exams within the next month, and so I'll definitely be busy studying while April and the boys get to have a blast with family in the meantime. I'll miss you guys, and I can't wait to see you guys come the middle of December.

This pic was taken at the Hard Rock Cafe, where it was my Mom's B-day. We had a blast!

P.S. I'm sure most the family knows but just so that everyone is updated.... I'll be done with Basic Sciences this December, so that means I have 2 years of Clinicals rotating in Hospitals until I graduate. First Stop = Portland, Maine.... where I'll be at Maine Medical Center, and I'll also be taking my Board Exam. It sure going to be a big change for us down there. Cayman = 90 degree weather most of the time, to Maine = freezing temps and tons of snow.

Here's April and I at a popular restaurant Breezes, the day before her and our boys flew back to Washington. See you soon Babe!

I thought this pic was hilarious, because both boys were busting up laughing while getting tickled by the grandparents, but especially that g-pa's eyes were also closed. LOL...

Here's Emmet stepping into his grandpas shoes LOL...

April and Emmet eating some cake on my moms birthday.

Happy B-day mom, I'm glad that we were able to celebrate it with you here. Hope you had fun!

Grandma and Grandma Moberg took Emmet and I on an undersea boat trip. It was awesome, Emmet and I got to see tons of Sting Rays, a million fish, and 2 Ship Wrecks. Emmet pretty much spent the whole hour saying "Whoa, Whoa, Whoa" while he pointed at nearly every fish that past by.

Here's another pic of Emmet and I during the Boat Trip.

P.S. try not to look at the Old Terd ruining our picture in the background :)

On one of the nights, my parents took April, Emmet, Weston, and myself to a restaurant called Deckers. It was All you can eat Lobster night, and Emmet love it.
P.S. yes I tried a go on the all you can eat Lobster train and soon realized how much of a pansy I am in terms of eating Lobster....

Here's Weston and myself getting ready to scarf down some Lobster

The day before everybody went back to Washington we walked downtown to eat at another Cayman Popular Restaurant. Here's Emmet with his grandma/grandpa taking a stroll along side the ocean.

The restaurant we ate at the day before everybody left was called Breezes, and it was delicious.

Here's Emmet and Weston with grandma and grandpa at Breezes. The four of them had a complete blast this week!

Weston and his grandma at Breezes.

This past week has been full of entertainment. We spent a whole week of hitting all the Islands top restaurants/attractions, and then we all went through a Hurricane Together. Thanks again for the awesome time, and thanks for visiting us down here. We had a blast!

April, Emmet, and Weston -
Have fun in Washington with Sally and Katie, and the rest of the family. I know this next month will go by fast, and I can't wait to be back together with you guys.

See you soon!

ALL CLEAR!!!

Well, the Hurricane has passed, and ofcourse due to my "Man vs Wild" instincts..... I was able to keep myself and my family out of harms way.

1) I did see my mom contemplate panicking as the storm was approaching.

2) Emmet went to sleep by 7:30, showing his true strength of No Fear

3) The biggest problem encountered last night was when Mr. Ironman ate all of the Cheetos, therefor causing an acute stage of panic in regards to finding enough snacks

4) We never lost power or water

5) Most importantly, I never contemplated, initiated, or even pondered the idea of assuming the fetal position under the table.

6) April and the boys will be flying back home with my parents tomorrow, while I finish the last month of school here. I have a ton of exams coming up, and rather than be stuck here by themselves while I study in the library, they will be able to hang out with family and enjoy the American Life.

BUT.... in all seriousness though. It was nice to have my parents here with us. They helped out tremendously, and we had a good time hanging out as the storm was approaching.

Update

This is from the Cayman Government:

"From Hazard Management Cayman Islands’ Joint Communications Service

URGENT ADVISORY: HURRICANE PALOMA, 4 p.m. Friday, 7 November 2008
Because of changes to Hurricane Paloma’s forecast path, the entire coast of Grand Cayman is now at serious risk from storm surge and high waves, as hurricane-force winds impact the island later today.

Repeat - all coastal areas in Grand Cayman are at high risk!

Persons are instructed to move to the highest point in their buildings, particularly if you are in a single-story building. Be sure to take provisions with you.

An update providing more information on local weather conditions will be given by 5:00 p.m. today."

So........ does mean that "WE" should be on the run, since my condo is 1) on a bottom floor, and 2) we are 20 yards from the Ocean....

Oh..... Crap.... We are going to be eating sand and Nemo fish for sure..... I'm going to push my parents outside any second if I hear "This is cool" one more time. LoL....

P.S. Dear Aunt Jana-
Yes it is true that I would assume the fetal position STAT if my parents were not here right now. But..... keep in mind, EVEN with them here, I am contemplating assuming the fetal position. So we'll see what happens.

P.P.S. Dear Aunt Jana-
My parents (As you should know) are Mostly ALL talk, and no show! I am sure once Hurricane Paloma comes here and gives "Them Two" a nice uppercut, they will crawl under the table (WITH ME) and assume the fetal position as well. AND...... "WHEN" they do.... I will GLADLY crawl out and snap a quick pic of them in the fetal position. So that I could then make nice X-Mas cards for the Family, and live happily ever after.

LOL....... We'll update you guys later. PEACE-

P.P.S I took a little stroll on the beach a couple of hours ago with "Ironman" and.... let's just say it was a BIG mistake. The wind and downpour was a bit unbearable, therefor placing my Al Roker impersonation on hold. (until tomorrow at least) :)

Hurricane Paloma

As you guys have now learned, Hurricane Paloma is set to punch the Cayman Islands in the face this evening. It is estimated to be either a Category 1 or 2 when it reaches the Cayman Islands. The even more disappointing aspect of it, is that my parents are here visiting us this week, and are therefor trapped here with us. April and our two boys were suppose to fly back to Washington with my parents this Saturday, but now have to wait until Monday to fly out, due to the airport shutting down.

Word from the Cayman Island Government, is that we should expect 4-6 feet of storm surge, along with 30-40 foot waves!!! I could be wrong, but it doesn't help any that our condo is 20-30 yards from the OCEAN!!!

This should be an eventful night, but we are prepared. Having my parents here with us definitely helps, and makes this process of weathering a Hurricane that much more comfortable. Its just too bad that my parents had to visit us right before a Hurricane smacks us. Its pretty much been dumping rain for the past 4 days!

We will keep everyone posted. Stay Tuned!!!

P.S. I would also like to add one IMPORTANT statement! My PARENTS are completely delusional when it comes to Hurricanes :) They are thrilled about this Hurricane, and have actually spent a lot of time today strolling the beach, while 85 mph winds smack them, along with a billion gallons of rain hitting them. We'll see who's laughing when 1am rolls around and this Hurricane reaches us full storm.

I do have to admit though..... I am actually 5 seconds away...... from going outside and having April videotape me while I do an Al Roker impersonation. LOL....

Hello Muscles!!! (and funny pics from Dad)

Ummm.... yeah.... so apparently nobody warned me that my wife would reach a stage in her life where her biceps will become larger than MINE.... basically overnight!!! LOL.....Note to self.... "no more talking back to my wife". I guess lifting two boys on a daily basis has its benefits. LOL....

P.S.... doesn't April look good! There's no way she's had two kids! Major props Snugs!!!

P.P.S..... yes everybody, that is a war zone of toys that you see in the background. This is what you call "Keeping it Real". I'm not afraid to show what our place "REALLY" looks like on a daily basis... LOL...We have two Black Belt Ninja's who ALSO just happen to be under the age of two, and I might add.....are Carnivores..... so this just comes with the territory.....

Every night I get home from class around 5pm, then we immediately go out to the beach until the sun goes down. This is a perfect pic of Weston and his hot mom waving to me while we hung out at the beach... Definitely sums up Weston and April's fun/outgoing personalities.

Emmet and I have always been best pals, and so I'm glad April was able to snap this pic of us before Emmet realized it and ran for the opposite end of the beach. He's too manly to smile for pics these days...... LOL...

Here's another hilarious pic of Emmet and Weston. Emmet was playing with Weston and squeezing his cheeks together while both of them were busting up laughing. These guys are best pals, and pretty much play with each other all day like this.

Just like Emmet..... Weston thinks that I am a Professional Wrestler..... All I have to do is lie on the ground, and IMMEDIATELY Weston will turn into a Ware Wolf and attack me with little or no restraint to the point that I fear for my life. But.... in the end, my "Tickle Hand" always prevails, and I eventually make him beg for his mother.... WHOOAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHA (evil laugh)

Apparently..... you don't need toast or pancake for butter to taste good. LOL.... He definitely didn't get this one from me.... Apparently April use to eat butter by the spoonful.... LOL.... When April took away the bin of butter, Emmet actually grabbed the lid and licked it dry.... LOL....
