Busy, busy, busy...

Daddy's little look-alike :)

Our silly dancing fool!

Even though we've only been in the states for a couple of weeks Emmet has really taken off! I mean that literally! He is into EVERYTHING!!! He is walking like crazy and he is just about running! I promised Ryan I'd keep our blog up and post lots of pictures, but man am I struggling...before I can catch a smile he is off and running. He moves so quick all I can get is the back of his head. I need a better camera with a faster shutter to keep up! He is getting so silly and is so smart. These pictures kind of made me sad too because after Emmet wore his hat his hair got matted down and he really looked like Ryan (not that Ryan looks matted :) but without the fuzzy hair he looked so different). We miss our hoopfest champion :(
P.S. Ryan...these overalls are cute! If you don't think so you are off your rocker!

What a trooper

This morning Emmet refused to go down for a nap...and this was the aftermath of it all! We met Grandpa Moberg for lunch today and after being up for so long Emmet couldn't keep his eyes open any longer. He fell asleep just like this and without even a fuss (I don't know who's kid this is!). We managed to eat lunch like this, get him all bundled up and in the car again, and even went to Auntie Kendra's pep assembly without waking up once...we're talking loud music and all! AMAZING!

He finally woke up after the assembly and was just checking things out with Grandma Moberg and Auntie Keng. What a good boy!

Auntie Kendra performed with her drill team at the assembly and did a great job...she is definitely the cutest one out there! They all did so good...especially since there was trouble with the music! She looked so pretty, so I had to post her pic :)

All bundled up

Emmet in his cacoon of winter clothes!

It was such a shock to come from Grand Cayman to Washington! It's still 90 degrees over there and it's winter here. We really had no warm clothes for Emmet so we were so grateful to get a fun package from Grandma Sainsbury in the mail. She sent us the cutest coat and hat (which Emmet is modeling) and now he is toasty warm in all this snow! I thought he'd hate all these clothes, but I'm sure the cold weather is making him think twice! Thanks again Grandma!

Excited for Weston!

Emmet eating/kissing his cousin Katie's baby ;)

Emmet is such a lovey little guy. All the sudden though he wants to kiss everyone! His favorites are his cousin Katie and Auntie Taylor. He can't seem to get enough of those two! He just follows them around with his arms out and mouth wide open ready for a wet and sloppy kiss! I got my first kiss in months today after his bath, so I felt pretty special! This is all great practice for when Weston gets here :)

Baby Anole Seeks Vengeance Against Me!!!

I was hoping I would never have to write a sequel to my lizard escapade.... but... today I had the son of the lizard I had conquered earlier try and avenge its mother/fathers death.... how do I know that this was a male baby lizard you ask..... well its easy.... all sons are obligated to avenge their parents death, hence this babies responsibility....

I was minding my own business, sitting (with my clothes on) at the kitchen table trying to prepare my for my Shelf Board Exams next Thursday when my Optic Nerve relayed a very important message to my brain... It told me hey.... Ryan... you're about to be ambushed... So I glanced up and saw glued to my ceiling a baby brown anole lizard. Luckily I was high on Mt. Dew and my reflexes were that of a scared deer on the Opening Day during hunting season and I was able to move rather quickly.

My first worry was that this "beast" could leap at me any second, and how in the heck am I going to catch it when its on my ceiling. I thought that I would just grab a chair and stand on it, then place a glue trap on it... but this involved me putting my face within 1 foot of it and I wasn't willing to take that risk of it jumping on my face and scratching my eye balls out. So I had to ghetto rig my broom along with a glue trap. I took the glue trap and ripped out a piece of the sticky part. Then I stuck it to the back of the trap and then stuck it to the broom handle. Then I did what any fighter does before a fight, I threw on my Ipod and briefly listened to my Rocky Soundtrack, did a couple of push-ups to get the blood going, and drank a red bull to give me the energy I needed to catch this monster.

As I approached the lizard though, my plan seemed to go into complete and utter chaos. It leaped from the ceiling and ran under my couch... Well I quickly got on my stomach to see where it was at..... I could see it plain as day underneath the couch and I could see it sticking out its tongue... Well.... there weren't any flies around since I just did my laundry and so I took it as a form of taunting... I shoved the broom under the couch, which sent it at a full sprint heading for my kitchen... Well.... I could see it heading for my Mt. Dew Box and that just sent me to a frantic state of mind and so I threw the sticky trap at it. It landed square on the lizard stopping in its tracks... So..... this now brings the conclusion of the 2nd lizard that has entered my domain.

Now why is it.... that when April and Emmet were here with me we didn't have one lizard in here... and now that I'm here by myself I've had 2 run ins in a matter of 2 weeks... It has to be because these lizards know that the man of the house "Emmet" is no longer here and so they are trying to claim this "land".... Well.... I got news for you... Anole's I will not relinquish control of this condo that easily... Next time I'll bring more than just glue traps back with me here... I'll bring my bow staff and ninja star collection to unleash all heck on these reptiles... Then I'll go out back and find this wild rooster that is obviously blind, by how it crows at 3am in the MORNING!!!

On another note.... I have had doubters tell me that they don't believe me that I caught the last one... and that I actually lost that battle and am too afraid to admit it.... Well I got news for you.... I'm keeping this one. As a matter of fact I may place this trap (with the caught lizard) on my wall to serve as a symbol for any other lizard that wants to step foot in here... We'll just have to wait and see...

Ryan vs Brown Anole Lizard battle is over!!!

Before we flew back to Washington to drop April and Emmet off, I ran upstairs to make sure we didn't forget anything to take with us back to the states. In our bedroom stood a brown anole lizard measuring in at 2-3 inches and 4 ounces. I grabbed the broom and swung at it like a drunken sailor before it ran under the bed. The taxi was on the way so I didn't have time to search for it so I had to concede the battle and fly back to Washington. But..... this lizard was not forgotten. Before flying back I went to Wal-Mart and purchased 8 different sticky glue traps. Right when I got back to our Condo here in the Cayman Islands I methodically laid out these traps and checked them throughout the day hoping to catch this little pest. I usually study until 2am, and when I go to bed I first lay there and envision this lizard crawling over my face while I'm sleeping and so I desperately wanted to catch this lizard to ease my mind. But.... things took a dramatic change when I got out of the shower today.

I walked into my bedroom and there he was..... sitting in the middle of the floor almost taunting me... Luckily I was well hydrated and had just ate lunch (Captain Crunch cereal) and so I was prepared for this battle. I grabbed the broom and swung at it like a 3 year-old swinging at a pinata. This lizard performed some matrix like moves and scurried under the dresser. I scared it back up against the wall and hopped on top of the dresser. I then slammed the brissels of the broom on it, which I thought would definitely kill it. It looked stunned for 2 seconds and then ran under the bed. I wasn't close to throwing in the towel and crawled down under the bed. I managed to then again scare it out of the bed and back under the dresser. I then frantically grabbed 4 sticky glue traps and arranged them around the dresser. But when I got down on my stomach I couldn't see the lizard anymore. So in a fit of rage I hit the dresser with the broom hoping to scare it out. Well..... it didn't come out and so I thought that it had escaped, but right before giving up I decided to pull out and slam the bottom dresser drawer. When I did this it ran out of the bottom of the dresser and its tail got stuck on one of my methodically placed glue traps. It then just sat there, almost trying to tell me that I had won. So I then grabbed another glue trap and approached this little booger. It then frantically tried to get away, which only made itself even more stuck. Before I placed the 2nd glue trap on this lizard I thanked the lizard for the challenge and gave it an "A" for effort. I could be wrong.... but I could have sworn it bow downed to me.

Then I put my clothes on.... LOL and threw it away in the dumpster outside

So now I can get back to studying and sleep well tonight, for once....

Its too bad April has the camera back home, because it would have been hilarious to post a pic of the lizard in the glue trap...
