Little survivors

Yesterday was shot day...our most dreaded day! I hate consciously putting my babies through pain...even if it is for their health and well being. It's just so sad to take them in the doctors office all happy and they don't even know it's coming! The boys both did so good, though. Weston was asleep on my lap and got woken up to a big shot of pain...I almost cried myself :( Thank goodness he fell back asleep. Emmet knew it was coming and only cried for a minute! We have a couple of tough little soldiers. I don't know what's worse though, the sneak attack or knowing it's coming! I'm just glad they survived! The whole appointment was a total nightmare though...we waited FOREVER and the doctor is the biggest bonehead I've ever met. I don't want to get into all of that though!!! Otherwise I'll be blogging all night!!! Ryan and I miss the U.S. especially when it comes to healthcare.
But now for the weigh in...
Emmet is only 30 inches (sorry buddy!) and weighs 24 lbs. We weren't surprised about the weight though...I swear this kid runs in his sleep! Weston is 27 1/2 inches and weighs 17 1/2 lbs. We about died laughing when we heard! I mean we knew he was a big boy...but he's already almost as tall as Emmet and he's gaining on him REALLY quickly!!! Too funny!

I was really surprised Weston has done so well...what troopers! I'm glad we have a little break before we have to do this all again!!! Oh, if you're wondering about the duct tape on Weston's bouncer...Emmet got ahold of it and was jumping like a mad man until it finally cracked. We would've bought a new one but he's almost to the stage that he wants to sit up all the time...that and baby stuff (along with everything else) is SO expensive here!!! Sorry kids, mom and dad are ghetto!

Getting back to his normal goofy self :)
Happy to be done with this nightmare!!!

First foods

Last night we fed Weston his first solid food. I can't believe we're already getting to this stage! Where has the time gone!!! He will be 5 months next week already! We were going to wait for the official "5 month marker," but we've noticed him taking a big interest in food. If we're holding him and drinking something he tries to grab it and bat at it like crazy. Also, now when we eat in front of him he just sits there and smacks his lips...poor baby is hungry! I almost feel guilty eating in front of him without offering him a bite! He didn't really care for it...it might have been that we gave him rice cereal with bananas...we'll have to get some non-flavored stuff and try it again! He just spit it right out! He made some pretty cute faces though!

"What is this stuff!?"

"Gag!"

All done...whew....happy again!

Emmet was just taking it all in...and was glad that it wasn't him, I'm sure. At one point he felt left out though and he wanted a bite too. He spit it out immediately! Definitely not as good as his snack packs! Haha!

Goof ball!

Picture perfect

Weston is the most photogenic baby! All you have to do is look at him and he cracks the sweetest smile! It just melts my heart :) There is nothing cuter than these gummy grins! I love when he smiles so big that his fat little cheeks get all round and shiny! Believe me when I say the whole roll looks the same...miles and miles of smiles :)

Throughout the "photo session" Wes had his fists up by his face...totally reminded me of a generic sears pose or something...haha!

This is my favorite! When he gets really excited he does this "scrunchy face" smile...LOVE it :)

Love my bright-eyed boy!

Future doctor???

Weston already wants to be just like his dad! Ok, ok...today after Weston's bath I dressed him in this outfit not realizing that this is Ryan's uniform for school here at SMU! So we thought it would be funny to pose him like his dad, stethoscope and all! He sure is getting to look more like Ryan...maybe it's just the short hair? Either way these two men look really handsome to me!

Pool time fun

Since Ryan has been on break we've tried to get in as much fun as possible before it's back to business. Everyday we've gone on little outings and have gone swimming. It's been a blast and Emmet just LOVES being out and about. This day we all ventured to the pool to cool off in the super hot weather! Well, me and Wes just kinda watched in the shade...but it was still fun :)

I had just asked Emmet if he wanted to go swimming...you can tell by his face how excited he was to go outside!!!

Em loves this floaty. He likes that he doesn't have to be held and he can just be pulled around the pool. What he really loves to do is lean over blow bubbles and drink all the pool water...gross!

Me and Wes just hanging pool side :)

Our little surfer dude warming up in the sun on his very own lounge chair...he loves to feel like a big boy!

All tuckered out from playing hard in the pool...after this both boys took a nap :)

Dinosaurs!

A couple days ago Ryan took Emmet to the baby/toy store to return some things. Well, I guess as he was checking out Emmet got his hands on one of these guys and refused to put it back. We all know who won this battle...Emmet, of course. Ryan is such a softy! They turned out be only a buck a piece so he even grabbed him another one...the T-rex (big surprise!)! Emmet is now OBSESSED with these guys. As soon as he wakes up he runs out to find them and plays with them all day. Stacking them on various boxes and chairs and stuffing them into his toy airplanes, then pushes them around ALL DAY. Ryan has a lot of fun with them too. At night when the boys go to bed he likes to pose them. The other night he had one eating one of Emmet's little toy people and the other "flying" his helicopter....boys. I'm just waiting for Ryan to teach him how to make them fight and eat each other, it's only a matter of time.

Emmet showing me his new dino's! You can't tell by the picture but he was SOOO excited!

This is the hat we got Emmet when we went to the turtle farm. He instantly loved it, he started crying when we took it off to pay for it!!! He wears this hat constantly now. It's so funny because he'll put it on and then run to the big 3 way mirror we have by our front door and start dancing and laughing at himself! He looks like such an island boy :)

Emmet is such a perfectionist. Everything has it's place and it has to be just so....or World War III breaks loose!!!

SCARY!!! ;)

Turtle Farm Adventure!

We finally made it to the turtle farm! We've been wanting to do it for a long time and now that Ryan is out of school we FINALLY got to! It was so crazy to see the enormous turtles...I really wasn't expecting them to be quite that big. They were easily 3 times the size of little Emmet! Emmet loved to see all the fun animals...he was left speechless! He didn't know where to start! Wes was such a good boy and napped for the first half of the trip in his stroller and then just kind of hung out the last half. Even though it was so hot out and his cheeks were bright red, he was still such a good boy...all smiles like usual! Lucky for him he had some shade in his stroller! We all had a blast and got lots of great pictures!

All these pretty pics were taken from the parking lot. The water is such a gorgeous blue!
