Cute diaper bums :)

These boys LOVE to be in just their diapers! I love it too...they are so darn cute like this. I love their rolls and tubby pop bellies :) It's also funny to see that Emmet and Weston are now about the same size! They grow SO fast!

Cute diaper buddies

These two crack us up and are growing up way too fast :(

Poor Wes looks "starving!" Hahaha :)

Ryan Sees His First Patient

Well, Ryan has finally reached the point in Medical School, where he gets to apply everything that he's learned the past 3 semesters. Yesterday, he had his midterm practical exam, where he was appointed a real patient and had to do a full exam, while one of the St. Matthews doctors stood over his shoulder grading his performance. Ryan was nervous all week, and had me "pretend" to be his patient (who had vision/hearing problems). I couldn't help but bust up laughing because he was trying to be all professional, but he did do a really great job ;) LOL... He was really nervous, because the MD grading him was the actual Pt-Dr Skills Medical Director at St. Matthews. But.... he found out that he passed with flying colors and is finally glad that its over.
I made him pose for me because he had to get all dressed up in Dr. attire. Pretty cute doctor, if you ask me :)

Happy Fathers' Day

I just wanted to write and brag about my super cute husband...the future M.D. :) He is not only the BEST dad, he's also a wonderful husband :) I'm so lucky to have such a patient, hard-working, motivated, and above all fun and sweet husband. This is only his 2nd fathers' day and he's getting pretty darn good at it!!!
These last few years have definitely been trying for us having two kids in a year and moving to another country for Medical School and no one has handled it better than Ryan. He really embraces any hardship or challenge we have and puts a positive spin on things. I am so grateful to have a light like that in our home. It truly makes things easier when you can laugh about them :) And we all know Ryan is the biggest jokester of them all!
But what I really want to let Ryan know is that he is an awesome dad. He really goes above and beyond with our boys. For most dad's the kids are mainly the side-job (in a sense) and mom's take the main role, but not for Ryan. When he comes home from school he immediately starts his second shift and helps me out so much with the kids. And because he is so hands on with them he has formed a really strong bond with both of them...a bond that I don't think kids usually have with "dad." I think Emmet actually prefers his dad...haha :)
When the kids are sick or up at night crying he is up with them as much as I am. Consoling and kissing away teething pains or bad dreams. I can't think of a sweeter picture than a dad up in the middle of the night rocking his baby :( Melts my heart. The best part is I don't even have to ask him to do things. He just voluntarily gets up in the morning so I can sleep a little longer or makes lunch for Emmet while I take a little too long getting ready for the day. It's things like that that really mean a lot to me and I know the boys really love having him around the house...because he really is a kid just like them...at heart anyway!!! So THANK YOU babe for being a wonderful husband/dad to me and the boys. I don't know where we would be without you...so from all 3 of us...."WE LOVE YOU, DAD!!!"

Love,
April, Emmet, and Weston

Cabin fever!

It's no secret that our little family are a bunch of homebodies, but lately we've all been feeling a little cooped up, stressed out, and irritable. The weather has just been so crazy...either pouring rain or scorching hot! Plus, where are we going to go on a 8x25 mile island!!! Our boys HATE the beach and it's too hot and dangerous to take a walk on the non-existent sidewalks here with crazy horn-happy drivers (don't even get me started on that one!) Oh, I miss the U.S. And with no A/C in the car the simplest trip can easily turn into a nightmare!
Today was an exception...I needed to get out of the house and go do something...anything. So we opted out for Hard Rock Cafe. They have good food, a great view of the ocean, and lots of people! To our surprise it was a great trip...I think I'm the only one who complained about the hot...skin melting car! It was so worth the trip though, the boys were so happy once we got them out of the car. They both had the biggest smiles with the saddest beet red cheeks and sweaty heads :( What good boys! It wasn't a monumental day or anything but it was a really great day nonetheless :) Something we all really needed.

Dad with our HAPPY HAPPY boy :)

Emmet skipped his nap this morning and needed a nap, but he decided he wanted to go "bye bye" more than he wanted to sleep. He was a little hot and grumpy until he got a taste of this "Berrylicious" smoothie...it was good and he drank most of it!!!

Me and my smoothie stealer:) Doesn't he always look like he's up to something...little mischievous grin!

Happy to be out and about...but especially to be out of the heat!

Breakfast with Emmet

Lately Emmet has been doing this crazy face. He'll scrunch up his whole face and breathe in really hard through his nose so it that it sucks his little nostrils in and it is too funny. Occasionally he'll come out with the buck teeth...that's my favorite! Haha! I don't know where he comes up with these things...but he knows it's funny and does it all the time. The other day at breakfast he was eating his oatmeal, of course, and was being a total goof. Doing this throughout the whole meal and laughing to the point of almost choking! What a nerd :) This face has also morphed into a new game...he'll scrunch up his face and squint his eyes (like he can't see) and chase after us or pretend that he can't see where he's going, peeking every once in awhile...arms out to guide him and everything. I need to get that on tape...so hilarious and what an imagination!!!

Our little ghost

Ryan put Weston's towel on his head to be funny, so of course, Emmet wanted to do it too! He probably spent a good 10 minutes running up and down the hall like this then checking himself out in the mirror! What a nerd!

What a good helper

Now that Weston is getting older the boys are really starting to interact and it's so funny to watch. Emmet is always wanting to "help" Wes by bringing him snacks, toys, and pacifiers. It's funny because he'll just run up and lay them on his chest or push them in front of him.
Last night Emmet saw Weston's pacifier on the couch and ran up and tried to put in his mouth...today he was so nice to help his little brother out again. Poor Wes! Hahaha!

"Here Wes...let me help you with this..."

"Oops...didn't mean to get your eye!"

"Got it! Your welcome."

My two sweet baby boys :)
